Magis Autumn

Magis Autumn is an exhibition of three artists whose painterly attitudes banishes, celebrates and extends the pictorial plane of a conventional work of art. The stark differences in their seemingly similar methods of labor diverge from the artworld trend of hyperrealism that exists as an uncanny depiction of life. What Martin Heine, Thilo Westermann and Trek Valdizno show us instead are their own brands of perfection – that image-making is very much able to contain the façade of mechanical production as well as the antithetical performances against it. The exhibition spans difference in practice through the context of these individual artists that altogether sentence changes in the season of painting ablaze with color and wise in fulfilling the act of looking.
